My sweet chubs woke up this morning with a cold in his right eye. You know when their eye fills up with green goobies and is almost closed shut. Well lucky it wasn't closed shut but I did have to clean that sucker out good. I tried to call the Dr. to see what would be the best thing for my little guy and of coarse you can never get ahold of those silly Doctors to ask simple questions. So I was on the phone with my beautiful sister Mandi (who is on her way into town as we speak!! so excited feels like Christmas!) and I was telling her about chubs condition. She told me you don't need medicine. Squirt your milk in his eye. I was like ya I think I heard you say that before. (she has a story quite funny of a similar experience) She said get alot in there and kind of rub it. Good thing babies don't really remember things that happen this early in their lives. Otherwise this could have been quite the traumatic experience! So I followed her advice. I tried to squirt his favorite ninny dinner in his big baby blues. He didn't even fuss he just kind of layed there and looked up at me with a smile. (he does that alot, after all mommy is his favorite!) And I'm not even kidding it looked better after 5 min. no joke! So by tomorrow his eye will be back to normal. So moral of the story is: you better believe I would do anything to help my sweet chubs be happy and healthy. Even if it means I have to squirt some of my liquid gold in his beautiful blue eye!!! Liquid gold you ask? Yes you read right. Nursing milk is liquid gold. You see it serves so many purposes it nourishes your child and makes them get nice and chunky while also curing any disease. So I have changed my attitude towards these gifts from heaven. (I wasn't quite fond of how large the ladies grew and stretched to make room for that liquid gold but you see my kid is a chub and requires lots and lots of milk so I guess the more the merrier! Literally.)

You are hilarious!! I am laughing out loud!! But oh yes I believe in the power of a mothers milk!!
Haha thats so funny. I love that picture of him! Keep feeding him the way you do cuz he is the cutest chubby baby ever! love and miss you!
It really works! It's wonderful! You have to be pretty consistant though. When my babies got boogie eyes I would skirt milk in them every time I nursed!
Liquid gold! Love it! Seriously, what would we do without Mandi and her nursing advice? She told me about this one for Scarlet and the only problem was I was already dried up. But, don't you worry, I found someone who loved my baby enough to come to the rescue...bless her heart! And like you said thank goodness these babies won't remember, but at least they're healthy!
This is hilarious! It reminds me of a time when Bailey scratched herself really bad on her cheek... and the doc told me just to "rub a little breast milk on it"... I had to double take... but it worked... better than neosporin ever hoped to work! And so Nate took off running with that one! And wouldn't you know he came in with all kinds of sickenesses that year!
Liquid something!
Ha Ha! This is awesome I had no idea! He is such a cutie I am glad his eye is already getting better. You know I hear about people who sell their breast milk and it is actually really expensive, like $5 an ounce! So I guess you are right, breast milk really is like liquid gold! You are a hoot, and so is Mandi. Thanks for your comment it made me feel so good! Love you tonz!
Yep, I tried this too, on Colby after Tara told me to do it. It really does work, who woulda thunk it!
I think I've heard that before. I hope it works out and chubs eye is cured! I will have to keep that in mind for the future.
I swear he gets cuter and cuter every day! And I totally agree, it seriously is liquid gold! Spencer jokes about selling it on ebay :) It cures all!
Thanks for the tip! I think I heard that before. Hope you don't mind that i stalk your blog. I love reading about Chubbs!
That was such a fun read, it takes me back to my nursing days! Chubs looks so adorable in that picture with that expression:) (I also wanted to remind you it's Julie's b-day and I posted a tribute to her.)
I have to agree with you on mommy's milk being liquid gold. I read your post the other day and it gave me an idea. My little Jack scratched his face (the corn of his eye) so I thought I'd put little milk in his eye and see if that would help it heal faster. You know within minutes it was better and by the next day his little scratch was practically gone. I miss ya! love ya
Ali~
I pretty much hogged little Chubs today... sorry for Lindsay! So if he ever comes up missing... um... I cant say enough about his sweaty fabulous feet and that huge smile and those captivating eyes and his amazing thighs... and OH BOY... his cuddly little hugs! I think I could steal him without any guilt at all! :)
I know I'm putting my name way down on the list... Your mom is like mine (They actually believe that they have "Rights" to babysitting!)... and your sisters probably claim the same rights... but if you were past that and then past Sheldon's family rights... could you put me on the play list?!! I would love to squoosh him again! I love that kid!
LOL! You are such a great mom! I love you tons!
ha ha Alli, I love this story. I agree; I think our milk is liquid gold and it does make them all nice and chunky. I'll have to remember this the next time T has an eye cold. Easton is still as cute as ever.
