To clean or not clean. . .

That is the question!

Its Monday, the weekend is over and Sheldon in back to work (in tucson boo!!) I thought spring break is supposed to be celebrated with vacation? Oh well, we will vacation in good ol tucson for a few days. :) But today I am left with the dilemma to clean my house or not. You see I have never been great at this whole "cleaning thing" I mean I love to come home to nice clean house, but I'm not so much a fan making it a nice clean house. I am very easily distracted to something that could take only a few hours takes me a whole day!! don't even get me started on SVU marathon days! But that's a whole other story for a different day. Cleaning can be quite discouraging when you have a little tornado of a son behind you messing up everything you just picked up. So if and when I do clean my house it only last for a few minutes.

Exhibit A:

Eastons toys that I just picked up two minutes before.

But picking up is the least of my worries. Laundry is going to be the death of me!! I'm not kidding, I HATE doing laundry! I love the smell of nice clean clothes. But I hate folding and putting them away. Laundry is a never ending battle for me. I think the whole time Sheldon and I have been married I have been caught up on laundry once. Yes only once in almost 3 years. Pathetic I know. My angel of a mother always did our laundry growing up and she was amazing at it! I always had fresh clean clothes nicely folded on my bed waiting to be put away. Did I always put them away? NO. But they were clean. If I can't keep up now, what am I going to do when I have more kids and more clothes to wash? Maybe I'll make my kids do their own laundry. :) Does that make me a mean mom? A two year old can learn quickly right? Ok I wont make Easton do his own laundry. . . .YET! But until he can I guess I'll have to work on being a little better.

Exhibit B:

Probably 4 loads of clean clothes just waiting to be folded and put away. It will happen some day. But maybe that isn't today. Anyone want to go to lunch? :)

haha! I love this post! It used to seem so much easier to keep a clean house until you have a little one messing it up every time you clean. I have decided that I don't pick up all the toys until the end of the day or if someone comes over which is rare! And I do hate how right after you put a load of wash away there is an entire new set of clothes that need to be washed.

Oh Alli you make me laugh! I can just see you now telling this story! It makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one who feels such hatred toward laundry.. I hate it, it's a never ending chore! Even though Harlo isn't walking and making a mess, it seems like the extra clothes, and baby things have taken over the house! Even though I wouldn't have it any other way, it does add to our mess! I will forgo cleaning my house anytime to go to lunch with you :) Call me love ya!

p.s. every time we go to mesa I ALWAYS leave the house clean, no matter how late I have to stay up the night before to get it done. I can't tell you how nice it is to come home to a clean house as well when you are away you can be stress free knowing everything is nice and clean at home turn the music and clean away!

Whats histerical about this post is that is exactly me and my house to a capital "T" I always think great someones gonna come over and think we're pigs but the pile of laundry on the couch is clean I promise...I'm just like you haven't folded em yet. Or following the sassy Jayda around gets old after the first 5 times you try to clean and it looks like you haven't touched a thing. I feel your pain Ali, guess I'll just have to meet you for lunch instead of cleaning too :)

Oh and p.s. my favorite quote is from that movie "yours, mine, and ours" the movie with a billion kids, the mom says

"A home should be for self expression, not first impressions"

So I say hey have fun, and clean after play dates and all that jazz :)

you are hilarious. your guys' house was always so clean too. i never thought how much work your mom must've put into keeping it clean for 7 people plus all the neighborhood.
i miss you! i love you. i hope you are having a good spring break. or as i call it, just another week.
